I created a new PayPal account on May 21, 2026. That same day I completed full identity verification, including government-issued ID upload (approved), bank account linking, address verification, Social Security Number, and all other required steps. Everything matched perfectly. After making small successful test transactions, I attempted a larger purchase on the night of May 21 / early May 22. The transaction was blocked by PayPal as a “security risk.” Since then, my account has remained heavily restricted. Over the past four days I have spent multiple hours per day on the phone with PayPal support. I have answered every security question, passed detailed life-history questions from 7–8 years ago with 100% accuracy, and followed every single instruction they gave me in real time. Multiple agents confirmed on recorded calls that I was approved and the issue was resolved. However, when I followed their direct instructions and attempted to add a small test amount to my balance, the transaction was blocked again. This failure — which occurred under their guidance — apparently increased the internal risk score further. No manager has called me back as promised. I have formally requested the recorded calls multiple times so I can have the raw evidence, but PayPal has not provided them. Even more concerning, restrictions have now started appearing on Venmo (a PayPal-owned company), further demonstrating that this is not a legitimate security issue but rather a failure of PayPal’s internal systems and processes. I come from the business world where efficiency, professionalism, and competence are standard. This experience has been the complete opposite: arbitrary, incompetent, and deeply frustrating. Despite proving my identity and legitimacy at every step, PayPal continues to treat me as high-risk with no valid justification. This is not a security problem — it is a clear case of systemic incompetence and poor execution. I have done everything correctly, yet I am still unable to use the basic services of the account I opened. I am requesting the immediate and permanent removal of all restrictions, a full written explanation of the issue, and fair compensation for the significant time and opportunity lost.
After I provided an an online customer a full and complete refund for an order, PayPal deducted an additional $742.58 and gave the customer a duplicate refund. I submitted a complaint #24498308 to the Better Business Bureau and PayPal has completely ignored me.
Not safe to use! Lack of safety and lack of reliability, lack of security on this platform. I have been a customer for 15 years and I am witnessing firsthand the decline in their service. They do not provide any protection from fraud, in fact- in my experience they cause more damage and behave in a questionable fraudulent manner. I will not longer rely on this platform to process a secure transaction option. STAY AWAY! UNSAFE! QUESTIONABLE PRACTICES!
So PayPal just admitted to "accidentally" stealing $400 from my bank account, put me into overdraft, and have no time frame on when I'll get my money back. They could've just put the $400 back....
I'm not sure what company this is located in ny . I recently received a email from PayPal and believed that this company was the same because when you Google this company's name PayPal shows. I wish this company the best .
